Lifestyle for Sale!

Sunday, July 16th, 2006

I seem to be taking a bit of a summer break from blogging and am enjoying it immensely. I have a few things consuming most of my time and I can’t really blog about those things at this point, so I just haven’t had much to say.
I have, however, been able to take some […]

Attention to Detail

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Last week I was looking through the paper for a job and got bored, so I started looking at apartments which just happened to be next to the following column:

Novel Kansas

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

There are things here that to me, being from Alaska, are simply charming. I don’t know that the rest of the world would find them so interesting and novel, but I do - things like old buildings made from brick and an enormous amount of sky.

Sunrise at 30,000 feet

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

I’ve been too busy to blog lately - but with good reason. Very good reason. The following photos of a sunrise were taken by me on a flight to Kansas. They might have been taken somewhere between Colorado and Texas - I’m not sure. I was up for nearly 24 hours by […]

Parking Lot Moose

Saturday, March 11th, 2006

I saw this young one in a parking lot in the middle of town. The poor guy was munching on bare trees.

About 6pm

Anchorage, Alaska on 01/05/06. The shutter was open for an entire second on this shot.

In-flight Humor

Sunday, December 4th, 2005

There’s this really awesome guy that I can’t stop thinking about. When I visited him, I took a plane. Two red-eye flights over Thanksgiving weekend and I’m finally catching up, but here are some of the funny things I saw:

This is on the flight safety card. Obviously it is advising you not […]

If Aardvark can have the Golden Aardy, I can have the Ellies. My awards are better, though. Certainly not because I’ve put more thought or creativity into them, but simply because they consist of beer.

The first Ellie goes to Mr. (Not-so) Terrible Swede and because it’s a pint of Winter Ale, he has […]

Craft Show Beer Hat

How can you not want one?

Check out the long shadows

Almost high noon in Anchorage today.

First Snow!

Sunday, October 30th, 2005

I woke up this morning to the first snow of the season! There was a thick dusting or a thin layer, either one, coating the world outside. By afternoon, when this picture was taken, some of it had settled, some had melted and some had just gotten dirty.

DSL Promotion and Sea Salt

Thursday, October 13th, 2005

My brother got a promotion and I still don’t have DSL! Woohoo!
My brother now engineers IP’s. Whatever that means. But he won’t have to deal with customers anymore and he gets to learn more about and do what he really likes! I am so proud of him!
Still, no DSL. Did […]

What happens when men are put in charge of a sales display?

Saturday, October 8th, 2005

It’s all the rage now!

Monday, August 8th, 2005

Employee discounts have found their way from the showroom floor to the craft bin. Joann Fabrics is on the bandwagon!
Update 8/10/05: I just heard a Pizza Hut commercial advertising employee discounts. Save 50% on a pizza. They do limit it to one.
Update: I can’t believe I just did an update […]

The beer tree pictures weren’t enough, apparently

Friday, May 13th, 2005

Twylah asked for pictures.

We took a day trip to Seward and on the way back traffic was stopped for about an hour while a small semi that had flipped and was lying guardrail to guardrail was righted and moved from the road. There are far worse places to be stuck. There […]

Beer Tree

Wednesday, May 11th, 2005

Somewhere between Anchorage and Kenai stands this Beer Tree. It is a tree that is apparently sprouting beer. Unfortunately it’s sprouting Coors Light. If it was sprouting something like Leinenkugel’s, I wouldn’t dare publicize these photos.

It sprouted about 20 feet off the ground (to the right of the red arrow), so we know […]

For the seriously disturbed…

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

If you have a weak stomach, don’t click here to look at this photo. You’ll regret clicking here to look at this photo. Don’t do it! Ok, there’s a slideshow, too. Sicko.
If you’re not thoroughly nauseated by that last photo, look at this one! It’s not as bad, I […]

The Secret Weapon in the Cute Baby Wars

You won’t be able to keep from smiling when you see this.

Elephant in the Snow

Not a picture you see everyday.
