First Snow!

I woke up this morning to the first snow of the season! There was a thick dusting or a thin layer, either one, coating the world outside. By afternoon, when this picture was taken, some of it had settled, some had melted and some had just gotten dirty.

HA! We’ve had snow for nearly a month! Slacker southern Alaska types with your warm winters and smoke free summers and your Best Buys and Barnes and Nobles. HA! Experience rustic Alaska with a trip to Fairbanks and see where Cowboys and horses still hitch up to the post outside the local tavern and Model A Fords still sputter through the streets! No advance through time here! We like our early 1900s lifestyle! Heck, when I got here, they were gettin these newfangled contraptions called cell phones with internet. (of course, I’d had one for 3 years in Colorado)
Seriously, we’re about 10 degrees warmer than last year with barely an inch of snow. Last year we were well below zero with 2 feet of snow for All Hallow’s Eve.
