Elle, have you read any of Bonhoeffer’s writings?

Yeh, some, but sadly I’ve probably read more about him than by him. Even that isn’t a whole lot.

What’s your favorite? Mine is The Cost of Discipleship, then Ethics, then Creation and Fall.

I haven’t read enough of his stuff to form an intelligent opinion about which is my favorite. I can tell you Fox in Socks is my favorite Dr. Seuss book, though. Bonhoeffer is on my list of people to read more of if I ever want to become a well-read individual.

My first encounter with Bonhoeffer was at Bethany College, in Little Sweden (Lindsborg), Kansas. I attended a soliloquy (the character - in this case Bonhoeffer - talks to himself and reveals his thoughts without addressing a listener.) It copied the Letters from Prison (another good book of his) before he was executed.

I would rank the top 3 for me: Life Together, Discipleship, then Creation and Fall. I have yet to read the Ethics completely, I’m waiting for the new critical edition to come out from Dietrich Bonhoeffer Works.
