ABC news, in their effort to one-up CBS and the NYT when it comes to campaigning for Kerry, has been holding on to a now infamous tape of Assam the American. They say they’ve been holding on to it because the CIA is “authenticating” it. Ever since 9/11 we’ve been receiving all kinds of terror threats and they were being reported AND authenticated by the CIA at the same time. Interesting how the authetication process is being done before making it public this time, isn’t it?

How would the news of an imminent attack affect the election? If people feel threatened, I don’t think Americans will react the way those in Spain did. I think Bush would move ahead in the polls and I think an attack on America would have the opposite of its intended affect on the election.
