Ron, I know where you live. Thanks to somebody *cough* while I was on crutches from my multiple knee surgeries somebody left the seat up and me being disabled, fell in. Nobody knows me really, but if you did you might be a little bit scared.

God calls us beyond our intrinsic laziness. Remember that part about loving your wife as Christ loved the church? It’s a good thing Jesus wasn’t too lazy to go to the cross, huh?

If men were required to put the seat down, their intrinsic laziness may cause them to just leave the seat down. Since the “aim” of many men is highly suspect, a policy requiring the seat to put back down would endanger both men and women. Empirical proof of this theory can be found in any male bathroom stall. Women should just be happy that men are putting the seat up at all.

We have a simple solution. We always put the lid down. Roughly equal inconvenience for all, the bathroom looks better, and it poses less danger to any animals or toddlers that might be straying through the house.

yes but the woman of Proverbs 31 did EVERYTHING around the house, and outside the house…. I think for the sake of the man’s name being kept ‘noble’ he could at least do this one thing and put the seat back down. No?

I think a case such as this one can only be resolved in the wisest court there is, Solomon’s. Would Solomon include “tipping the seat” a trait worthy of a wife of noble character (Proverbs 31)? I so “totally” think so.

If the wife of noble character would tip the seat and to teach her daughters to do the same, then “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:” (31: 28)
